Fall Fun!

Sorry for the long delay in blog posts lately. It's been an exciting fall for us as we found out that Emery's gonna be a big sister! We are ecstatic and know Emery's gonna be a great big sister. More to come on that news!

We have tried to get out an about a bit this fall, enjoying the great weather and taking some pictures of Emery in action. That's about all we're able to capture right now as she is in constant motion! Last month we went to a farm to pick some pumpkins and enjoy the "stillness in the air," as Grammie says. Unfortunately I got sick about halfway through so wasn't able to stay as long as we had hoped, but we did have a good time and enjoyed getting out and about!

Even though we're not big on the Halloween festivities, we enjoyed some dress up with Emery as a cool little cowgirl. She didn't keep her hat on too long, but did seem to enjoy handing out candy and waving goodbye to the trick or treaters!

Running!

A couple of months ago we took Emery to a nearby park where they have an amphitheater that has lots of space to run around. Emery was walking with assistance only at that point, but really enjoyed it. The other day we ended up there again with camera in hand and captured Emery running through the grass. She looks like a little track star in some of these pictures running down the hill. She is practically running now at home, but not nearly like she can down a hill!

She did wipe out a few times, but managed to get back up and kept going! Even after a mouth-full of grass!!

14 months and loving it!

Someone told us the other day that 15 months is their favorite age for little ones. We are almost there, but are so far loving every minute of month 14! Emery has developed such a spirit in the past month and a half and we can say she is now actively playing with us. About a week or so ago she started making this pouty face--wish I could get it on camera! We couldn't figure out what was wrong but within seconds Emery was laughing her head off realizing she had pulled off her trick. Quite the character. She has all these different faces that just crack us up...wonder where she gets that from???

Emery has also really started to understand us more in the past several weeks. She understands us when we tell her to "sit down" as she is constantly trying to stand in her little rocker; "shut the door"- she is really into this and has closed herself in my closet now several times; and "dance"- this might be my favorite and yes, I'm still trying to get this on video! And finally, after many months of pleading and prodding, Emery has decided to sign "please." It only took ice cream to convince her, but now she is loving the praise she gets for using her manners and making life a whole lot easier on mommy and daddy!

If 15 months is the golden age of toddlerhood I can't wait!

P. S. more pictures to come!

Taking it like a champ!

We decided before Emery was born we wanted to alternate Emery's vaccine schedule from what is currently recommended. The good thing is that it means that Emery only gets two shots at a time, the downside is more trips to the pediatrician's office. So Thursday was the day to get her 14 month shots and she did well with them. She only cried for about 30 seconds afterwards and then smiled and held her sticker all the way home!

These pictures capture her good mood at the pediatrician's office, but also shows off Emery's "new" face. She's starting to make some pretty amusing faces--it's just hard to capture them on camera!

Storytime!

Emery loves books. Loves them! Thanks to her cousin Scarlett, Emery has a great library full of books that she enjoys looking at daily. She pulls each book out, "reads" it and then goes to the next one. Lately she's been pretty animated with her reading time--we were able to capture this last night before bedtime--Enjoy!
