Escape Attempt

Emery was supposed to be taking a nap, but instead I caught her examining the security fence and testing for weaknesses. Don't worry, we lowered the crib to the lowest setting the next day.

Updates

As usual, we're a little behind on the updates. Life around the holidays always seems busy and January was no exception. I know everyone says this, but it is truly hard to believe that our baby girl is 8 months old! She is no longer an infant taking in things from a distance, but active and soaking up just about every waking moment exploring life. She is on the move now crawling, transitioning well from sitting to crawling and in the beginning stages of pulling up on furniture. No matter how hard you try and hide cords or put away things, she somehow finds just what she can't have and grabs for it!

The past few days in particular I've been struck by God's immense blessings through Emery. I've felt it so many times, but as I hear friends struggle with difficult pregnancies, miscarriages and infertility I just want to squeeze Emery a little tighter and worship the Lord again and again, praising Him for our beautiful girl. She has been such a joy to Weylon and me these past 8 months...the first 9 months in the womb weren't such a joy, but I'd do it all over again for her! Weylon and I have had a couple date nights lately and we've been able to talk and reminisce of God's blessings. I think I've always felt God's faithfulness in my life through different circumstances and these past 8 months have been just another glimpse at his goodness and love.

We love you Emery and can't wait to see your smiling face everyday. You are our joy!
